Job changes in the opera world

 

Jan Burian, Prague National Theatre’s General Director from last summer, has appointed Silvia Hroncová Opera Director, Robert Jindra Music Director National Theatre and Martin Leginus Music Director State Opera.

Gillian Brierley from Glyndebourne will join the New York Metropolitan Opera as Assistant General Manager/Marketing from 20 January. 

Georges Delnon becomes Intendant of Hamburgische Staatsoper in 2015. He will be followed in Basel by 
Andreas Beck.

Serge Dorny is appointed Intendant of the Semperoper Dresden from September 2014, planning from 2015/16.

Martin Glaser is the new General Director of National Theatre Brno.  

Thomas Königstorfer is the new Kaufmännischer Direktor of Burgtheater Wien. He is succeeded by Uwe Schmitz-Gielsdorf as Kaufmännischer Geschäftsführer at Landestheater Linz.

Uwe Eric Laufenberg becomes Intendant of the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden from the 2014/15 season. 
Christian Longchamp has moved from La Monnaie/De Munt in 
Brussels to Opéra de Paris as Chief Dramaturg. Krystian Lada, one of our Young Delegates, has succeeded him.

Joan Matabosch, currently Artistic Director of Barcelona’s Liceu, is appointed to the same position 
at Teatro Real Madrid.

Alexander Pereira will become Sovrintendente of Teatro alla Scala Milano, as Stéphane Lissner becomes Director of the Opéra de Paris in autumn 2014.

Rocc, formerly Opera Director at Prague National Theatre, is the new Artistic Director of Slovenian National Opera in Ljubljana.

Nora Schmid, Chefdramaturgin at Dresden’s Semperoper, will succeed Elisabeth Sobotka as Intendantin of Oper Graz, when the latter takes over the Bregenzer Festspiele in 2015.

Vladimir Urin became General Director of Moscow’s Bolshoi Theatre from the start of this season. He has been succeeded at Stanislavsky Music Theatre by Ara Karapetyan.
