For World Opera Day, Opera Europa is pleased to showcase its support to the next generation of opera management talent with the launch of its eighth Opera Management Course.
This season, 21 young opera professionals were selected on the basis of their commitment and their high potential for a career in opera management. They come from diverse backgrounds – culturally and professionally – and will together grow in their profession to become more aware of the challenges of the sector, while learning from established opera professionals and each other.
The course will teach eternal verities on the management of an opera company, and also offer a window on recent responsibilities, including Sustainability, Equality and Digital Transformation.
Contributors include colleagues from major companies in Austria (Wiener Staatsoper), Belgium (La Monnaie), Finland (Finnish National Opera), France (Opéra Orchestre de Montpellier, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées), Germany (Komische Oper Berlin, Deutsche Oper am Rhein Düsseldorf-Duisburg, Staatsoper Hannover, Stadttheater Magdeburg), Spain (Teatro Real) and the United Kingdom (Birmingham Opera Company, Opera North Leeds, Royal Opera House Covent Garden).
