Paris autumn conference

Imagination has the power to transform people’s lives.

People of any age, but especially young people, live happier and more fulfilled lives if they have healthy bodies and healthy minds. That is why sport and culture are equally important factors in realising our potential. Participants learn life skills like teamwork and striving to improve. Spectators learn to discern beauty and professional skills. Aspiration unlocks the imagination.

The ancient Greeks described the process of releasing, and thereby providing relief from, strong or repressed emotions as catharsis. Their tragedies paradoxically engendered a feeling of well-being. Music performs the same function. Opera, which combines music and theatre, is especially good at it. But opera does not have a monopoly. Dance adds an extreme physical effort, comparable to an athlete’s, towards the expression of strong emotions.

The most social of the arts is architecture, because it creates the space in which we live. Whether it is a home or an office, a museum or an opera house or a landscaped park, it invites people to inhabit and use that space, to breathe life into it.

Education is the process by which we learn to live, to understand and develop our mental and physical capabilities and to interact with society. Its primary purpose is to set free our imagination.

Opéra Comique along with Opéra Garnier will be hosting Opera Europa's 2018 autumn conference this October. Registrations are open.

Operabase and Trulinked

In June 2018, Operabase and Truelinked merged to strengthen both companies.
Operabase has documented opera activity around the world for over 20 years. This has made the most comprehensive performance data resource in the world and a tool used globally every day by opera professionals, and the opera-going public.
Truelinked is a dynamic company founded in Denmark in 2013 by Sune Hjerrild and Jan Pilgaard Carlsen. Truelinked have developed collaborative tools for the casting process, planning, and execution of auditions, last-minute replacements etc. Truelinked’s innovative approach has been awarded a Midem Award in 2017.
Until the new fusion of Truelinked and Operabase is ready for launch, the existing Operabase Pro services, and Truelinked’s advanced casting tools will, of course, continue with the staff members you already know at your service.
However, the merger in June 2018 marks a new beginning, with Sune Hjerrild appointed as the new CEO. Now, building on the strengths of both companies, a new set of tools and services will be developed for all stakeholders in the world of opera, including the audience.
We look forward to discussing further developments to better respond to your needs.
