On 25 October was the sixth edition of World Opera Day!
In the end of 2023 the Practice of Opera Singing in Italy was added to the list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. With Benvenuti all’Opera, we invited to celebrate World Opera Day in resonance with this beautiful recognition.
The practice of opera singing is the heart of the art of opera. Song has the power to awaken emotions and bring people together. Benvenuti all’Opera is an invitation to all our communities to discover our beloved art and its beautiful values.
Singers, choirs, companies, opera-lovers joined the celebration from all over the world!
On this occasion RAI, the italian broadcasting channel dedicated a special programme to opera, with the live transmission of the project Manon Manon Manon from Teatro Regio di Torino on 24, 25 and 26 October on TV and radio and including special interviews!
Opera houses around the world organised special live events, like concerts of a Flashmob in a shopping mall in Giessen, or hidden singer at the market in Sevilla, or a students production from New National Theatre in Tokyo!
We observed a high number of online contributions, sharing dedicated content, to show the life of a young singer, what is Italian Opera? what are your prefered italian arias?
OperaVision had a special Puccini programme, with La Bohème from Orchestre National Montpellier Occitanie.
Thank you for your joy and your contributions!
