National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA), located on the West Chang’an Avenue in the heart of Beijing, China, features four professional venues: the Opera House, the Concert Hall, the Theatre and the Multi-functional Theatre, with total floor area of 217,500 square meters. It has NCPA Taihu Stage Art Centre in Tongzhou District in Beijing, which specializes in stage designing, set construction, rehearsals and stage synchronisation, covering an area of 59,700 square meters. Since its inauguration in 2007, guided by the principle of “For the people, for the art and for the world” and the core values of “Art Changes Life”, NCPA has commissioned and produced 90-plus programs including operas, dance dramas, dramas and Peking Operas. Every year on average, NCPA presents nearly 1,000 high-art performances from home and abroad and provides more than a thousand art education performances and outreach activities, attracting as many as 2 million people to come.
