In 1928, with the launch of the public radio station, at the initiative and under the leadership of the composer and conductor Mihail Jora – Radio Orchestra (later called the Radio Symphony Orchestra and today the National Radio Orchestra) was founded. Radio Romania ensemble has started to perform public concerts since 1932.
Almost a century of artistic activity means the history of the National Radio Orchestra, an ensemble that marked the evolution of interpretation and dissemination of symphonic music in Romania. The orchestra presents its weekly concert (on Fridays) during the nine-month annual season (October-June) held at the Radio Hall.
Created in order to support the vocal-symphonic repertoire, the Radio Academic Choir has come to the path of artistic maturation, constantly assimilating new scores, reaching today an impressive number of works: orators, singers, madrigals, poems, ballads and numerous miniatures.
