Norrlandsoperan - Scandinavia's Most Northern Opera House - with a Symphony Orchestra and Departments for Opera, Music, Dance & Contemporary Art. The Opera House has developed into an expansive centre for the performing arts with a strong national and international presence. Norrlandsoperan also houses Technical & Stage Departments and Departments for Scenic Production, Costumes, Props and Masks/Wigs as well as Finance, HR and Marketing.
For 2023 - Norrlandsoperan has new productions of Kaija Saariaho's "Adriana Mater" and John Adams "The Death of Klinghoffer" as well as a mini opera by Sofia Gubaidulina. Furthermore, Norrlandsoperans Symphony Orchestra will continue focus on both contemporary and classical music with a number of world premieres as well as a strong focus on music written by women. Our Dance Department will continue to present premieres by International Dance Companies.
