After a successful meeting around Birmingham Opera Company’s stream of Rhinegold on OperaVision last autumn, the forum for dramaturgy meets again online to discuss a new production of L'Orfeo.
Although not a typical dance opera, Monteverdi's L’Orfeo is often set in a theatrical world determined by movement. Can the opera's antique symbols and their meaning for opera’s first baroque manifesto be transported through choreography? In this production from Staatsoper Hannover, director Silvia Costa creates a whole new galaxy of symbols and tests our ability to perceive them intuitively.
The meeting takes place on Monday 15 May at 14h30. If you would like to participate, please register with susanna@opera-europa.org.
