10 years of Opera Europa’s Opera Management Course
Croatian National Opera Zagreb was the host of Opera Europa’s 10th Opera Management Course. Since 2013, 293 young professionals from 39 countries have taken part in this training opportunity, learned from experts and from each other, grown their professional network, and prepared for the next step of their career in Opera. Coming from diverse specialised backgrounds within – artistic administration, marketing, finance, human resources, technical management - or around the opera company – stage directors, singers, artists managers – they have grown into an impressive network, and it was such a pleasure to recognise so many of them walking around in little groups around our Vienna conference.

OperaVision affords us an amazing opportunity to share our performances across the world, with hundreds of thousands of people who would not otherwise have seen the show. I was amazed at the number of people who watched our Il Barbiere di Siviglia from Garsington Opera in England, and I was delighted at the response and the number of people who then wrote to me personally, from all over the world! In a time where it feels that the world of opera is not always being celebrated and encouraged, OperaVision is a place of positivity, hope and joy, spreading the opera love to anyone who wants to receive it, and reminding us that opera really can be good for us all.
Katie Bray, soprano
I am very grateful to OperaVision and Opera Europa for the chances they have given me at the start of my career. Being featured in the OV streamed masterclass helped to get me noticed internationally and it was a pleasure to exchange other emerging artists during the focus group organised during the OE conference in Copenhagen.
Ihor Mostovoi, baritone
I feel very honoured to be featured in the documentary commissioned by Opera for Peace as part of the OperaVision Next Generation project. I hope that the story of my journey to opera will inspire other emerging artists to keep faith even in difficult times. Viva (Opera) Europa!
Leonardo Sánchez, tenor
