Opera Europa members have taken various initiatives to show their support to the Ukrainian people and their colleagues from Kharkiv, Kyiv, Lviv and Odesa.

Fundraising efforts and benefit concerts
GERMANY
Oper Frankfurt Streamed fundraising concert on 10 March, proceeds will go to Nothilfe Ukraine. Private Fundraising campaign “Help for Ukraine”
Theater Heidelberg Benefit Gala involving all artists and the Mayor of Heidelberd on 13 March. Proceeds will be given to Deutsche Ukrainische Gesellschaft. Collects things of need that are send by trucks to Ukraine
Oper Köln Solidarity Concert on 7 March “Singing for Freedom”. Donations for Südstadt Leben e.V. and UNICEF
Staatsoper Hamburg Solidarity concert on 12 March with the participation of Ukrainian artists. Proceeds will go to food and medicine for the Ukrainian civilian population.
Theater Magdeburg solidarity Mozart Requiem concert on 19 March and additional performance of Grete Minde. The proceeds will go to a fund to support medicines, trucks and necessary items for Saporizhzhia, twin city of Magdeburg.
Oper Wuppertal is collecting funds within the employees to send to Ukraine. Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch, which will be performing in Lille from 15 to 19 March is joining the initiative and has decided to donate the ticket sales of their first performance.
Staatstheater Karlsruhe Benefit event on 20 March in cooperation with Rotary Club Karlsruhe-Fächerstadt. The proceeds will profit to the Rosinen-Initiative.

FRANCE
Théâtre du Châtelet, Paris has organised a Exceptional evening in support of the Ukrainian people with the Kiev City Ballet and dancers from the Opéra national de Paris on 7 March. All proceeds have been donated to Acted and La Croix Rouge.
Opéra National de Lorraine, Nancy Solidarity concert for peace and in support to the Ukrainian people on 10 and 11 March. Proceeds will go to FACECO - Action Ukraine.
Opéra Comique, Paris Solidarity concert on 20 March, the proceeds will all go to UNICEF.
Opéra de Lille Ticket sales of all premieres in March will go to Fondation de Lille - Solidarité Ukraine.
Opéra National de Paris Concert for peace on 27 March. Proceeds will go to Alliance Urgences en Ukraine (a group of six NGOs). Collecting clothes and medical. Collection organised by two Etoile dancers of medical equipment, children's clothes, hygiene products and fast food. Boxes delivered to PLAST - Ukrainian scouts.
FINLAND
Tampere Opera Benfit concert on 16 March in cooperation with other art institutions of the region
ITALY
Fondazione del Teatro Grande di Brescia Extraordinary concert for the Ukrainian population, on 23 March. The entire proceeds of the concert with the artists Joshua Bell and Shai Wosner, will go to the special Ukraine fund of the Croce Bianca in Brescia for humanitarian purposes.
Donizetti Opera, Bergamo will host a Concert for Peace organised by the municipality and the Donizetti Conservatory of Bergamo on 13 March. Proceeds will go to the Association Art without Borders Basel which support 'Help Ukraine'
LITHUANIA
Lithuanian National Opera & Ballet, Vilnius is broadcasting a benefit concert which will premiere on 11 March at 19:00 CET on Arte.
POLAND
Polish Nationa Opera, Warsaw Chartiy ballet and opera gala on 27 March for Ukrainian refugees.Employees with the help of local authorities are collecting essential items to be sent to people in need.
SWEDEN
Royal Swedish Opera, Stockholm Donation of the revenue created by the performance of 6 March to SOS Children’s Village in Ukraine. Recording of a Ukrainian song, with invitation to make a donation.
THE NETHERLANDS
Dutch National Opera & Ballet, Amsterdam Benefit concert on 13 March, with the participation of the whole company (Ballet, opera, studio, choir). Proceeds from the concert will be donated to Giro 555 in support of Ukraine. Participating in the #hArtforUkraine campaign with the possibility to donate via the DNOB website
UNITED KINGDOM
National Opera Studio, London Fundraising concert on 4 April Tickets are free but the audience is asked to donate. All proceeds will go to Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal. You can donate here.
Royal Opera House, London ROH Concert for Ukraine on 15 April with international artists including Ukrainian ones. All proceeds will go to Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) for Ukraine, including optional donations made to the Royal Opera House in the checkout process. Other special events for Ukraine are Flight Pattern (2019) on ROH Stream 22 April 2022 at 7.30pm and Swan Lake – Special Performance for Ukraine 5 May 2022.

FRANCE
Théâtre du Chêtelet, Paris welcomes the Kiev City Ballet in residence to allow the dancers to continue rehearsing.
GERMANY
Theater Magdeburg had already organised a Ukrainian Festival back in 2015 in response to the inviasion of Crimea and foresees to collaborate again with Ukrainian artists. The theatre is also trying to support Ukrainian refugee musicians, and are in the process of giving a part-time contract to a violonist who used to ork at the National Opera in Kyiv.
Oper Leipzig has kept a guest Ukrainian bass in its Ensemble to protect him to go home to Kyiv.
Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz, München offers some internships and appartements to artists and musicians that had to flee Ukraine.
LITHUANIA
Lithuanian Opera & Ballet Theatre, Vilnius has announced to help ukrainian musicians, singers and dancers who felw from their country.
POLAND
Polish Nationa Opera, Warsaw has made flats, rooms and some ofice spaces temporarily available to mothers and children fleeing Ukraine. Employees have welcomed refugees at their homes. Employees have volunteered to animate projects for refugees (Polish and English classes, trip to the zoo or to the cinema...).
SPAIN
Intermezzo, Astigarraga have announced their will to help choir members from Ukrainian opera houses to find a way to work in Spain during the war.

Opéra National de Paris Tribute to the victims of the war in Ukraine through a text inserted in the programme book of Wozzeck, performed in March. The performance information loop on the light screen on place Bastille includes the insertion of the Ukrainian flag for a period of about 10 seconds.
GERMANY
Oper Frankfurt Interview for the magazine Opernwelt with baritone Iurii Samoilov about the current situation in his home country. Museumsorchester concert on 1 March starting with the Anthem and one minute of silence.

THE NETHERLANDS
Dutch National Opera & Ballet, Amsterdam colours of Ukraine on the building, speech from the Directors before Eurydice - die Liebenden, blind on 5 March and minute of silence.The choir performed a prayer for the Ukrainian people, Ukrainian baritone and Opera Studio member Maksym Nazarenko sang an Ukrainian Folksong, that was also streamed on TV.
Festival O., Rotterdam Greek director Elli Papakonstantinou and the Ukrainian ensemble of young contemporary music artists Nova Opera shall premiere during the Festival O. next May and they are determined to make the performance happen.
