Opera Europa is sector-specific membership association, and works with a variety of partners on projects and initiatives, from international opera-specific organisations and European cultural networks to funding bodies.
Member of
Culture Action Europe (CAE) is the only intersectoral network bringing together all practices in culture, from the performing arts to literature, the visual arts, design and cross-arts initiatives, to community centres and activist groups. As an active member of Culture Action Europe, Opera Europa represents the interests of its members to the European institutions. Since 2021, Opera Europa’s Sustainability & Special Projects Manager Celia Grau is a member of CAE’s executive board.
Pearle * - Live Performance Europe is the leading organisation on EU and international regulatory affairs issues affecting daily operations or live performance organizations. As an active member of Pearle*, Opera Europa represents the interests of its members to the European institutions.
Sister companies
OPERA America, leads and serves the entire opera community in the US, their membership includes over 500 opera companies, educational institutions, affiliated businesses, and other entities. Opera Europa has tight relationships with its sister organisation and a mutual benefits agreement.
Ópera Latinoamérica (OLA) counts over 30 members from 11 countries and meet every year to establish new emphases and objectives. Ópera Latinoamérica has its headquarters in Santiago de Chile. Opera Europa has tight relationships with its sister organisation and joins forces in advocacy initiatives, research and events.
The Association for Opera in Canada represents the Canadian opera sector, bringing together opera companies, artists, and professionals from across the country. The Association supports the development and sustainability of opera through networking, knowledge-sharing, and advocacy. Opera Europa maintains close ties with its Canadian sister organisation, exchanging perspectives and expertise on shared sector challenges.
RESEO is a network for arts education and creative learning with a specific focus on opera, music and dance. RESEO also works with a range of partners to advocate for the value of opera, music and dance education. Opera Europa and RESEO are collaborating through the activity of the Education forum on education, learning, participation and outreach topics.

INSPIRE strives for upscaling the green, the digital, entrepreneurial, soft and resilience skills of existing and prospective performance production managers, set designers, artistic and stage directors, facilities managers and stage technicians of the Performing Arts Sector.
Opera Europa is one of the 11 project partners and is in charge of communication and dissemination.
Opera Europa is a main expert partner of FEDORA, the European Circle of Philanthropists of Opera and Ballet, a non-profit organisation that encourages innovation and creativity in opera and ballet with Prizes for Opera, Ballet, Education and Digital Projects. The most recent joint endeavour is the initiative for change and innovation Next Stage.
The Theatre Green Book is a free resource for everyone in the performing arts to work more sustainably in response to the climate crisis. Opera Europa launched a collaboration with the Theatre Green Book and Fedora, engaging 15 opera houses across Europe to implement the Theatre Green Book guidelines and develop a tailored version for the opera and dance sectors.
