Opera Europa Eva Kleintiz Scholarship

The Eva Kleinitz Scholarship honours the memory of Eva Kleinitz, Director of the Opéra National du Rhin until her death in May 2019, and past President of Opera Europa, and is funded by a bequest in her will specifically directed to the assistance of young singers.

During her years at the Bregenzer Festspiele, La Monnaie, Staatstheater Stuttgart and in Strasbourg, Eva offered generous support, encouragement and opportunities to countless young singers.

Each autumn, applications are invited for a limited number of grants of up to €3.000 each from singers currently in full-time further education, at either university or conservatoire. We are seeking to support young singers of the highest quality for whom such a grant could make a significant contribution to their ability to continue their studies or to take their next step into the profession.

The jury is composed of artist manager Jonathan Groves, Director of the Hamburg State Opera Bettina Giese and stage director and Opera Director of Staatstheater Darmstadt Nicola Raab.
