Opera Europa is pleased to announce the fifth edition of Eva Kleinitz Scholarship, designed to advance the careers of talented young singers.
Practical information
• The Eva Kleinitz Scholarship supports singers with grants of up to €3.000 per person.
• It is open to singers of any nationality who are in full-time further education, either at university or conservatoire.
• The Scholarship exists to support singers of the highest potential for whom a grant could make a difference to their ability to continue their studies or to take their next step into the opera profession.
• The deadline for applications is 23:59 (CET) on Sunday 4 January 2026; late applications cannot be considered.
A shortlist of applicants will be made and those singers selected will be invited to an online interview in spring 2026. The jury is composed of artist manager Jonathan Groves, Director of the Hamburg State Opera Bettina Giese and stage director and Opera Director of Staatstheater Darmstadt Nicola Raab.
The Scholarship honours the memory of Eva Kleinitz, Director of the Opéra National du Rhin until her death in May 2019, and past President of Opera Europa. It is funded by a bequest in her will specifically directed to the assistance of young singers. During her years at the Bregenzer Festspiele, La Monnaie, Staatstheater Stuttgart and in Strasbourg, Eva offered generous support, encouragement and opportunities to countless young singers.
Please submit your application as a single pdf document, by 23:59 (CET) on Sunday 4 January 2026 to: scholarship@opera-europa.org
