The Armenian National Opera and Ballet Theatre is located at the heart of the capital Yerevan. It is not simply a cultural structure, but an architectural masterpiece as well, whose creator is the renowned Architect Alexander Tamanyan, honoured in 1937 during the world architecture exhibition in Paris. With its classical beauty, grandiose stage, amphitheatre with more than 1000 seats, the theatre first opened on January 20 of 1933. Currently the Opera is living its “Renaissance” : many world-renowned stars of opera and ballet can be found on various international stages.
