Teatro Xtremo is a Madrid-based contemporary performing arts company focused on the intersection of opera, theatre and new performative languages. Its work approaches the stage as a space for research, where music, dramaturgy, the body, image and technology collide.
The company develops chamber opera and new creation projects, alongside contemporary reinterpretations of the repertoire, exploring new formats and relationships between performers, space and audiences.
Teatro Xtremo also runs Ópera a Quemarropa, a chamber opera festival based in the Community of Madrid, conceived as a platform for creation, production and encounters between artists from different generations and disciplines, with a particular interest in fostering collaborations and connections with other opera organisations in Spain and internationally.
